ISO20121 Event sustainability management systems

ISO20121:2012 "Sustainability Management System for Human Activities - Requirements and Guidelines for Use" aims to support the organization of various types of activities in sustainable management, applicable to any organization or individual, including customers, suppliers, and event managers participating in various types of activities such as exhibitions, sports events, and recreational events.

Sustainable management of activities is a comprehensive management process that helps relevant parties recognize potential crises and related impacts, identify important sustainability issues, plan and implement response measures, conduct performance evaluations, and continuously improve. Its overall goal is to improve the sustainability of organizational activities, effectively prevent potential social and environmental risks, and reduce the adverse effects of activities on society and the environment.

Obtained ISO 20121 Sustainable Development Management System Certification for the 2012 London Olympics

In 2012, the International Organization for Standardization released a new standard ISO 20121:2012 "Sustainability Management Systems for Large Activities - Requirements and Guidelines for Use" developed by the ISO/PC 250 Sustainability Management Project Committee. The standard aims to support the sustainable management of organizations hosting various types of events, and is applicable to the management of large-scale events such as public events (such as the Olympics), various exhibitions, performances, and celebrations. China has adopted this international standard and converted it into the national standard GB/T 31598-2015 "Requirements and Guidelines for the Use of Sustainability Management Systems for Large Activities". This standard was officially released on June 2, 2015 and implemented on January 1, 2016.
